“Transcendence” follows seven trans people living in Atlanta who share, with courage and authenticity, their journeys of self-discovery. Through intimate, moving interviews, the film becomes a celebration of resilience, identity and hope.

“I made this film to honor the strength of the trans community and the beauty of living authentically.
As a Brazilian lesbian filmmaker, my own coming-out journey — and our wedding, officiated by a trans pastor — were deep sources of inspiration. At a time of growing attacks on the rights of the trans community, the film resists with joy, truth and humanity.
Transcendence is personal and political — a love letter to courage.”

Official selection of Out On Film, one of the top 10 LGBTQIA+ festivals in the United States according to USA Today, where the film had its world premiere in October 2024.
